Here, at Bankton Dental Practice, we have treated thousands of patients who would describe themselves as nervous or anxious about dental treatments. Our empathetic and caring staff will put you at ease and our soothing environment will help you relax and take your mind off the treatment procedure.
We regularly treat people who have not seen a dentist in many years. Even if you think that your mouth is in a hopeless situation, in most instances that is not the case. There is absolutely no need for embarrassment-having seen many such patients, we totally understand.
Our staff are very caring and will try their level best to make all procedures as painless as possible. We can put your favourite radio channel or music on for you or if you wish, you can bring your iPod/music player with you.
You are not alone.
Most people with dental phobias feel utterly alone in their fear, and when they do voice their fears to others, may get to hear comments like “don’t be silly” or even worse, “nobody likes going to the dentist” (unless they happen to be speaking to an ex-dental phobic). If you suffer with full-blown dental phobia, you probably won’t have a clue where or how to start. The good news is: you’ve already started by looking up our website.
Unless you let your dentist know what it is you fear, he or she won’t be able to help you. They’re not mind readers. You do not need to explain why you are fearful, if you feel uncomfortable with that. But it really helps if you can say what you are afraid of, or even make suggestions as to what your dentist might be able to do to help you with your fears.
